How did your new album/single and overall concept for it come about?

I wanted to do something completely different, something unexpected and outside the norm. My vision for this album was to create a project that reflects many of the musical styles that shaped and influenced me while growing up as a musician.

Who are some of your current favorite artists, Smooth Jazz or otherwise?

There are so many artists who have inspired me over the years, but the few current ones that come to mind are Bireli Lagrene, George Benson, Samara Joy, Diana krall, Eric Gales, Chris Botti, and Sullivan Fortner.

At what point in your life did you make the decision to become a professional musician and actually record your own music?

Music has always been a central part of my life. I grew up playing in church and later went on to study music in college. A few years ago, I wrote several songs that sat on my computer for quite some time. Eventually, I realized it was time to share my creativity with the world, with the hope that my music could inspire people, bring healing, and spread a little more love.

If you were to choose to learn a new instrument that you've never played before, what instrument might that be?

I love listening to violin solo pieces and concertos. The violin is such an expressive and emotional instrument. I would love to learn how to play it someday.

Outside of your musical career, what else in your life gets you excited and fulfilled?

Outside of music, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I also like jogging around my neighborhood.

What's your favorite charity or cause and why?

One organization that is very meaningful to me is the American Cancer Society. Cancer took my father and some close friends, and that experience deeply impacted me. I strongly believe in supporting research and contributing to organizations that are working toward finding a cure.
