The feeling of feeling the music. It's cool creating something from your soul.

My GOD. We been through a lot together.

At what point in your life did you make the decision to become a professional musician and actually record your own albums?

At the young age of 16, but when a hip-hop band asked the horn section to setup behind the amplifiers....It was time to do my own albums.

What artists do you feel akin to or in the same tribe with?

Miles, Tom Brown, Donald Bird , Hugh Masekela, George Clinton, I'd say were in the same tribe.

What are some of the most important goals you have for yourself in the next five to ten years?

To still be on this planet living learning, creating and enjoying life cause these things are very important to me.

If you were asked (and we are asking now!) for your advice as to what the Smooth jazz format could do moving forward to insure it relevance and growth, what would your suggestion(s) be?

I would say, keeping a discriminating ear, and go with your heart.
