Keyboardist and composer Jayson Tipp offers a heartfelt tribute with “George Is His Name,” a newly reimagined version of a piece first introduced on Under The Lake’s 2018 album JAZZ, GROOVE & ATTITUDE. Originally inspired by George Duke, the track has taken on deeper resonance following the passing of Tipp’s father, also named George, in 2022. This sentimental interpretation features Tipp on pianos, keyboards, and programming, joined by Michael Paulo on saxophone, Randy Jacobs on guitar, and Roberto Vally on bass. Steve Hall's masterclass mastering adds warmth and clarity to this moving, personal homage.
