Veteran saxophonist Cary Simms launched his career playing gospel, jazz and R&B in the Bay Area before relocating to the Pacific Northwest to hone his skills with top mentors in Oregon. He later shared stages with the likes of gospel legend Yolanda Adams, David Sanborn and Esperanza Spalding. He's venturing to a whole other region and musical mindset on his latest single, the compelling "Caribbean Blue," speaking to the sweet melody and balmy tropical breeziness surrounding his passionate, intimate and easy flowing and ultimately soaring sax. His first release since INTIMATE THOUGHTS, his 2007 debut album featuring Nathan East, the track starts out in laid back mode before picking up fire with a sizzling horn section, dreamy vocals, plus guitar and piano solos.
