Since emerging with “In the Pocket” featuring Paul Brown in 2013 (his most streamed track to date), Bay Area saxophonist Greg Chambers has been bringing the edgy funk and fire, with sly, soulful sensuality on a batch of albums and singles featuring collaborations with the Smooth Jazz elite – including Nils, Jonathan Fritzen, Julian Vaughan and Adam Hawley. On his buoyant, punchy, super summery single, “Playdate,” Chambers brings the soaring sass with two other genre greats, producer (and fellow saxman) Euge Groove and up and coming guitarist Lemek, whose crackling solo on this track is truly hypnotic.
