In 2002, veteran composer and five string bassist and OASA Records President, Tony Whitfield paid tribute to the enduring spirit of the people of NYC in the wake of the 9/11 attacks by arranging and producing "New York Hustle" an electrifying, soul and jazz-fired revamp of Van McCoy's Grammy winning disco classic "The Hustle." Featuring Whitfield's potent bass grooves as well as the Grammy Award Winning Jerry Hey Horn Section and guitar work of the late Hiram Bullock, "New York Hustle - 9/11 Tribute" (Instrumental) is being re-released to honor the victims on the 24th anniversary, and works an evergreen magic that gives us the freedom to celebrate life even in the wake of the worst tragedy. Mr. Whitfield is also fulfilling a personal request from the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin and conducting a SILENT AUCTION of her Rare Rehearsal Tape.
