After taking an eclectic detour as part of the fusion trio J3 that included his older sister Jamie-Leigh, 16-year-old Justin-Lee Schultz has a blast getting back to the smooth, funky stuff on his latest collection of originals - while still emphasizing his passion for dynamic improvisations – on the cleverly titled JUST IN THE MOMENT. Following an encouraging spoken word intro by Robert Glasper, one of greats of today's jazz, who’s championed the multi-instrumentalist, Schultz explores the melodic and harmonic possibilities of an Eddie Harris classic before jaunting through a Paul Brown-produced set of infectious originals showcasing the teen's mastery of piano, guitar and bass.
