Aside from playing all of the bass parts, Brian also plays guitar and surrounds himself with a horn section comprised of Randy Brecker, Eric Marienthal, Gerald Albright and Rick Braun! If that were not enough, on keys are Patrice Rushen, Jeff Lorber and George Duke!

The title track “It Is What It Is” sets the tone, laying the ground work for what’s to follow, namely a stunning collection of songs. ”Life” is a drop dead gorgeous ballad, “Elephants On Ice Skates” is the answer to a bass players prayers and the crisp “Slap Happy” is just that!
