53rd annual Monterey Jazz Festival presented by Verizon

Headliners and highlights this year included HARRY CONNICK JR, AHMAD JAMAL, ROY HARGROVE, TROMBONE SHORTY, DIANNE REEVES, CHICK COREA, KENNY GARRETT, CHRISTIAN MCBRIDE, ROY HAYNES, BILLY CHILDS, ANGELIQUE KIDJO, CHRIS POTTER, JAKE SHIMABUKURO, KYLE EASTWOOD, GERALD CLAYTON, DR. LONNIE SMITH and SOMI OBSERVATION.

There are more women in Jazz than Smooth Jazz… while there are still more men featured in the musical style, we find this fact fascinating given the many feelings and opinions on the differences between the two.
