MARCH 2007 CORRESPONDENCE:

Hi Sandy!
I've been a big fan of your station ever since I discovered it, about 2 years ago, but I never took the time to check the website until now. I'm impressed of how many people you have to have working just to keep updating and playing a list over a streaming radio. Great job ! Congrats ! The music is great. I'm also a part-time musician and I truly apreciate the quality of the music. I discovered some great artists through your station. I think you should try advertising more because there are a lot of people out there that apreciate good music and still never heard of your station. One think that I think you miss is talk shows, interviews. It would be nice to have musicians invited. These last weeks I've been working on my final paper for my masters degree and since I can only work at night, your good music was the thing that kept me going.
Thank you !

Victor Chitic, Bucharest, Romania

Hi Victor!

Thank you for your note and I'm so glad that you finally visited Smoothjazz.com - the website!

We are working on posting interviews and other segments for listening to or using as Podcasts. Thanks for the input!

Good luck with your paper and thanks again for sending us an email from Romania.

Best Always,

Sandy Shore

Dear Sandy,

Thank you for such an outstanding Internet radio as Smooth Jazz.com. I've tuned in other stations and they can't stand up to the quality and selection of the music you play. I live in Evansville, Indiana and smooth jazz isn't an option in this area. I've recently downloaded the Octoshape plug-in and am very impressed. The mix of music is outstanding and I have seen my song purchases sky-rocket because of your efforts. Even though I don't play an instrument, music is my life.

Thank you again for all you are doing.

Very happy and sincere,

Don Johnson

Hi Don,

Thanks for writing... We're glad to have you listening in the heart of America! We appreciate the feedback about the Octoshape player as well. We think it's pretty cool to offer 192k streaming for an optimal listening experience.

I'm the same way. I don't really play an instrument, but music has always been my life too.

Thanks for reach out!

I have Sprint and would love to listen to smooth jazz on p-tunes on palm treo 700p. I put in the www.smoothjazz.com and it constanly reconnects never never getting on. Is it possible? Thanks and keep up the GREAT work.

Bruce Kuhlmann

Hi Bruce,

There are so many music listening platforms available now. I am sorry that listening to us on your Sprint phone is not working but we have never heard of this platform so cannot be much help to you. I would suggest calling the product's customer support folks and asking them what's up.

Thanks for pushing forward to try and get the stream to work. Please let us know what you find out so that we can post it in our Open Mic section for others who might be experiencing the same issue with the same product.

Sincerely,

Donna K Phillips | VP Smoothjazz.com

Sandy, if you’re reading this, I hope this finds you & yours well.

I’ve actually been away from smoothjazz.com for awhile now but when I turned it on tonight, it brought back good memories. I miss being able to download the day onto my mp3 player. Now that I have a Zune player (aka the ipod killer ), now I know what all the buzz was about podcasting.

I didn’t see anything on the website so I figured I’d ask. Any way to download smoothjazz.com onto my zune player?

Anyway I hope you and yours are doing really well. You’re still the #1 smoothjazz station in the world in my opinion!

Luv ya!!

Robert Heitner Jr.

Hi Robert,

Guess what? We're going to start doing Podcasts for all mp3 players very soon and they will be available on SmoothIndieStar.com. You should be able to hear it on your Zune!

Thanks for writing!

Sandy

Dear Ms. Shore,

I’ve been a devoted listener in Portland, OR until we got a socalled “smooth” jazz station, which plays Phil Collins, Sting,

and pop without a blink of an eye. That Octo-whatever from Europe is GREAT and should serve to bump up your rating

after ambient pop went mainstream! Sounds good on SmoothJazz and SmoothLounge, too. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Grant W Miller

Hi Grant,

Thanks for the kind note! We appreciate hearing from you in Portland and are very happy to know that you enjoy our music and the cool Octoshape 192k player!

Keep listening!

Best,
Sandy Shore

My name is George and I need help! I was in love with a song that was played on our short lived station here in Louisville, KY. I always heard it while driving and never got the artist or the name of the song. Our smooth jazz station shut down in 2005 before I could ask them. Please if you could help me or direct me to someone who could. The song has a world genre type feel, with calypso drums being the focus instrument I think. It has some digital drums to it, so I figured it came out in the last 5 years. The bridge is unique though, it is sort of an Indian chanting, which sounds like...Sting. Go ahead and laugh, thats all I have to describe it. Like I said, any leads or clues would help, Thanks!

Hi George,

I wonder if this is a tune from 3rd Force. The way you're describing it reminds me of their music. Try "Believe In Me" from their DRIVING FORCE CD. Go to Amazon.com and pull up this CD and listen to the song samples. If we think of anything else we'll be in touch.

Best,
Sandy

Do you have a recommendation as to where would be the the best place to sell a Keilwerth SX90 tenor saxophone? It is used but not very many times, maybe 11 or 12 times.

Carla and David McManus
carly10071945@yahoo.com

Hi Carla & David,

I don't know of a specific site for musicians... the only thing coming to mind is CraigsList.org or eBay.

We will post this note in our Open Mic section with your email address just in case one of our visitors is interested.

Good luck!

Dear SmoothJazz.com

I just love the latest CD by Victor Fields, Thinking of you. I did not see it among the featured CD's ! I was happy to see the self titled CD, Victoravailable.

I think Victor is one of the best, if not THE best jazz vocalist out here today !!! Thank you for the great music. I will look forward to seeing him featured on the TV show or on the Internet !

Thanks,
Katurah

Hi Katurah,

We agree, Victor Fields is one of the BEST jazz vocalists of our time! I'm not sure where you looked on Smoothjazz.com, but please be assured that Victor's new release THINKING OF YOU is indeed featured. You'll see it in artist alphabetical order in our Listening Loft. Plus, we're playing his music daily on Smoothjazz.com Radio and he's listed on our Artist page while promotional banners are running site wide on Smoothjazz.com.

You may also be interested in the interview we have with Victor on SmoothIndieStar. Please see it here: http:smoothindiestar.com/interviews/fields.htm

Smoothjazz is excellent and I love what you guys do, however perhaps you can help...there's a song that's been played numerous times and I never get to see who the artist is because I'm away from the computer. Can you please help? The title is: "Do nothing 'till you hear from me"

Thanks.

Fred

Hi Fred,

Thanks for listening to SmoothJazz.com Radio. You're referring to a great classic song called "Do Nothing 'Til You Hear From Me." The version we feature often is by Steve Tyrell. You'll find it on his album THIS GUY'S IN LOVE. You can check it out on Amazon.com by clicking HERE
