Who would you say have been the biggest influences in your life in getting you to where you are now in your career?

One of my biggest influences actually is my wife, Heather, for her strength, belief and support for achieving my goals in music. My good friend and bass player, Marcus Davis has stuck by me through this project over the years. And, last but not least, Eddie Bullen, Juno-winning, Grammy-nominated artist and producer has not only influenced our carrier but our sounds as well.

Who are some of your current favorite artists, Smooth Jazz or otherwise?

In the Smooth Jazz vein I really enjoy and look up to artists like Brian Culbertson, Dave Koz, Candy Dulfer, Peet Project, Paul Hardcastle, and Pete White. My long time influences throughout my lifetime have been Level42, Kenny Thomas, and Jamiroquai.

How would you finish this sentence? I dont like to go a day without_________?

Listening to and eating chocolate--of course. I also love spending time with my wife and great and wonderful companion, Kanoock, my border collie/Australian Shepherd cross.

If you were asked (and we are asking now!) for your advice as to what the Smooth jazz format could do moving forward to insure it relevance and growth, what would your suggestion(s) be?

I would love to see up and coming Smooth Jazz artists writing great original, new albums. I would also like to see Smooth Jazz move more towards the forefront of music throughout the world.

Whats your favorite non-music activity?

Well, I used to be a professional soccer player for Fulham FC in England so Id have to say I like soccer. I especially enjoy traveling around the world and experiencing different cultures and history and meeting people.

What are some of the most important goals you have for yourself in the next five to ten years?

I want to keep writing enjoyable, original albums with songs with lyrics people can really connect to. I want to continue playing, hopefully in varied venues from theatres to jazz cruises. My main goal is to connect and be relevant with fans worldwide. I want to work hard and always aim to improve for the love of music.
