Who would be the single biggest influence in your life in getting you to where you are now in your career?
That would have to be Barbra Streisand. I have been listening to her beautiful voice since I was a child. For me her voice is magical, emotive and full of feeling. That has been my greatest influence, the incomparable Barbra Streisand.
How would you finish this sentence: I donít like to go a day without_________?
MUSIC!!!! What would life be without music. No other art form can capture ones imagination like music. The vibrations that travel through our ears to our brains, inspiring us, soothing us, and moving us. Even the things we see like movies and art go better with music.
Outside of your music career, what else gets you excited and fulfilled?
First and foremost itís family and friends. I like when we can all get together and enjoy our experiences and just hang out and enjoy good food and conversation. Ok maybe a few drinks and dancing along the way. I am also very passionate about art. I love to paint. You can see some of my work on my website delilahmusic.com. I also create original crafts and sculptures.
What's your favorite non-music activities?
Outside of cooking, which is also on of my specialties, I am an aspiring interior designer. I love going to antique shops, vintage stores and furniture shopping. I favor mid century, as well as 1960ís retro styles. I simply love it...
What are some of the most important goals you would like to achieve or the next 5-10 years?
Thats a question that always gets me thinking. I have many goals and aspirations. More than a time line my daily mantra is always to do better than the past. That means improving myself in music, art, writing, relationships, behavior, preforming, acting, cooking, loving. The list can go on and on... I have a goal to be the best musician I can be. I would also like to record an album with strings and sing standards from the Great American Song Book, as well as compositions by Michel Le Grand. He simply is one of the greatest writers of all time, and it is one of my ultimate goals to record these gems!!!
What do you find to be the most challenging part of recording a new album?
Other than the time needed to create these extra ordinary endeavors, itís the connectivity of the musicians. I like to feel connected to the music and the musicians/producers I am working with. If we all get goose bumps at the same time, I think were getting on to something magical. We all strive for that magic. Hopefully we can channel some of itís energy and get it on to tape!!!!
